The teacher...
My name is Phoebe Kennedy. I am 36 years old, and a mother to four children. I danced for 15 years, and have been teaching in Auburn since March 2012. I grew up in Auburn and love providing this service to the kids out here. I am very committed to making this work for all of the families that come to me, and truly love each and every child I have had the privilege to teach. I am constantly learning and growing as a person, an owner, and a teacher in this business. I appreciate the love and support I have received from my families more than I could ever express!

The studio...
Classes are taught out of the Auburn Community Center. I strive to provide a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere; and at the same time instill good technique, teach challenging routines, and have tons of fun with the kids. It is of extreme importance to me that modest costuming and age-appropriate music selections be used. Space at the studio is limited so feel free to run a quick errand during class time, but if you would like to stay and watch please be respectful to the space. Also, I keep a box of used shoes in the studio for families in need to look through, so if you have outgrown a pair please consider donating them to the box, and if you need a pair, check with me.
The classes...
Classes are available for children 2 and up. Prices start at $30 per month for one class and $15 a month for any additional classes. Payment is due the first class of every month. If payment is not received by the 10th day of every month, there will be a $5 late fee added. If you are more than a month behind, unfortunately, the child cannot join class until the balance is paid. If an unusual circumstance has occurred, of course, meet with me privately to discuss it. We will start our dance year the first week of September. Class lasts 30 minutes to 1 hour and a half depending on the age group. Please have students dressed in something easy to move in preferably a leotard, tights, and a skirt with appropriate shoes if possible. Please no jeans or bare tummies. Class time for the younger ones are split between tap and a combination of jazz and ballet. As the students get older a separate ballet class will be available and the combination class will focus on jazz and tap only. This will allow us to get more in-depth with technique and steps, and also provide more variety for the students. Every week we stretch, learn and practice steps, and then work on combining them in a routine that will be performed in a recital at the end of the dance year (this will be toward the beginning of June).
